Naveen Jain: Philanthropist for Seattle Area Education
Naveen Jain, CEO of Intelius, knows firsthand the value of an education. Coming from humble circumstances in the Indian province of Uttar Pradesh, Naveen Jain was fortunate enough to be able attend university. Having witnessed dire poverty and knowing the devastating effects of not having an education, Naveen Jain has dedicated a substantial portion of his philanthropy towards education.
Together with his wife, Anu Jain, Naveen Jain supports organizations that center their concerns on needy families and communities within the Seattle area. Kindering Center, Olive Crest, YouthCare, Child Rights and You, and the Overlake Service League are several of the associations that he and his wife support. Kindering Center provides services for special needs children. Since 2000, Overlake Service League has awarded nearly half a million dollars to help members of the metro Seattle community to achieve their dream of attaining a higher education. YouthCare and Olive Crest provide educational opportunities for runaways and children rescued from abusive environments. Through Intelius, Naveen Jain has sponsored a scholarship for technology students attending the University of Washington. This scholarship fund totals $170,000. Furthermore, Naveen Jain is a patron of the Vedic Cultural Center and the Seattle Art Museum.
Beyond educational institutions, Naveen Jain supports young entrepreneurs as they leave school. An active supporter of the Kairos Society (founded by his son Ankar Jain), Naveen Jain has helped young businesspeople form networks as they enter the tough world of business.
