In 2002, Staples formed the Staples Foundation for Learning, as a venue for supporting youth organizations and education. Since its establishment, it has sponsored several groups throughout the country, those whose aims correspond with the company’s campaign to “teach, train and inspire.”
The foundation aims to inspire children of all ages and backgrounds in discovering the wonders of growth by means of study and academic accomplishments. It is also a partnership of esteemed organizations like Ashoka, Earth Force, Hispanic Heritage Foundation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Initiative for a Competitive Inner City and ReadBoston.
Moreover, Staples has other in-store campaigns, one of which is the Recycle for Education, a nationwide fundraising program that makes raising money easy for state education. It also educates children about recycling.
The company also donates $3 directly to an academic institution for each certified ink and toner cartridge that is collected. The money can then be used for fundraising, school programming and other programs that the school chooses.
